New Handmade by Micah Shop Updates: My Latest Etsy Listings + Life as a New Mom

Hey everyone! After a couple months’ hiatus I’m back with exciting new updates to my Etsy shop and a peek into my life as a new mom ❤️

Life lately has been a never ending cycle of baby snuggles, dirty diapers, and laundry, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Baby Chloe FINALLY decided to make her debut at 41 weeks, just one day before I was scheduled to go have a late term ultrasound to make sure everything was okay since she was still taking her sweet time. I was only in labor for 4 hours, surprisingly short for a first baby!! She weighed 6lbs 10oz. Since I had a home birth with a midwife, they let us decide exactly how we wanted to do things, and her dad got to catch her and cut the cord and everything. It was a beautiful experience and I would totally do it the same way if there is ever a next time.

Postpartum has been such a positive time for us due to my boyfriend being the most amazing support system and having been blessed with quite possibly the world’s most laid back baby. At seven weeks she is already sleeping through the night (much to my surprise). She is just the happiest baby!!

While I have taken a break from making content for my blog and social media, I’ve been hard at work in my Etsy shop. Last month business really took off! I’ve had my Etsy shop up and running since the beginning of this year but I only got my first order late September, and ever since then orders have been pouring in. I’m so grateful for all of the support lately!!

My most popular listing as of late has been this little guy.

I’ve been having so much fun making these little frogs and designing clothes for them that I decided to start selling them as customizable keychains. I still haven’t gotten around to designing different outfits for the frogs like hats and sweaters (finding the time for pattern writing and testing is pretty tough with a newborn) but that is definitely the next step!!

I also did a bit of an overhaul on my Strawberry Shortcake doll. One customer had a couple of personalization requests that I liked so much that I decided to include them! I think the doll looks so much more detailed now.

Spring and summer are long gone but these little flower bookmarks and keychains have started selling again! They make pretty handy stocking stuffers with the holidays just around the corner. 😉
